No Marked Prices? No Problem!

Here is the "why" to why I don’t post my prices on Facebook or Instagram.

Every now and then, I feel like I don't get sales because I don't post prices to my sales posts on social media. Sometimes I wonder if having a price attached to items would make them more approachable and consumable for audience. Immediate price, immediate sales. No unknown, no conversation, no extra step in messaging me, just a product and a number. However, my art isn’t fast-food. It’s handmade, personal, and often still becoming when you see it.

Most of the reason to this "why" is practicality. Facebook’s algorithm can be a little unpredictable when it senses “selling.” Posts with clear price tags sometimes get filtered differently or shown in spaces that don’t feel organic to the creative journey I’m sharing. I want my art to show up as connection first and transaction second.

Ones that I have created myself without commission are all the same prices. These are just fun guesses at styles, patterns, colors, that people might like mixed with my own personality.

However, many of my pieces are custom, one-of-a-kind, or flexible depending on size, detail, materials, and time. Pricing isn’t always a fixed sticker. Prices never differ by much, they can reflect the care, conversation, and customization involved.

Honestly, I love when someone messages me. Those conversations are some of the best parts of what I do. I enjoy hearing your ideas, offering options, talking through colors or themes, and learning what inspired you in the first place. I love to hear about the gift giving, where the item is going, and how much you love it! When someone reaches out, it becomes a collaboration instead of a checkout button. It turns into a "gathering place" that only local or small business purchasing can create. When a price is the very first thing someone sees, it can unintentionally become the only thing they focus on. But when we talk first a story forms and the value feels fuller and more understood. (Don't let this deter you either, I am not THAT chatty!)

There’s something special about slowing it down. Not everything has to feel like a scrolling storefront. Sometimes I just want to share the paint, the process, the new things I am doing, without every post turning into a sales tag.

So, if something speaks to you, please message me. Ask questions. Share your thoughts. Tell me your vision! I would love to create something for you. I would love to have my art in your hands. I would love for you to enjoy a piece as much as I enjoyed making it.

Behind Artsy Bee is just me, creating, dreaming, listening, and building this little business one idea at a time. So, don't let a message stop you from joining me.
